Right to Communicate

People who have communication needs have the same rights as everyone else.  This includes the right to:

  • Express their opinions, preferences and decisions 
  • Have their opinions heard and acknowledged
  • To take risks and make mistakes
  • Have their decisions honoured and acted upon, or taken into account when negotiating alternative options 
  • Request supports and input from whomever they want 
  • Reject advice provided
