Professional Communication Services may be required
Speech-Language Pathology Services
A person may require Speech-Language Pathology services if:
- They have no reliable way of communicating
 - They have complex communication needs
 - They have no trusted person to assist them with communication
 - There is a perceived conflict or question about the authenticity of the person assisting them to communicate
 - If there any question of coercion, persuasion or abuse of power
 - The decision has serious consequences such as in medical assistance in dying or a justice setting
 - If the professional evaluating their capacity has no qualifications or experience in the accommodating their communication support needs
